A car accelerates from rest in a straight line at a constant rate of 4.0 m/s^2 for 4.0 seconds then moves at constant speed for a further 2.0 seconds. Find the displacement of the car in the first 3 seconds. I think you have to use the equation: s=1/2at^2 but what's the time here?
