13. Is the statement a good definition? If not, find a counterexample. A square is a figure with two pairs of parallel sides and four right angles.

The statement is a good definition. No; a rhombus is a counterexample. No; a rectangle is a counterexample. No; a parallelogram is a counterexample.

OpenStudy (dape):

Logically, it's a sound definition. But it doesn't correspond to our normal use of the term "square", since every rectangle satisfies it.

So A?

OpenStudy (dape):

I would say the 3rd alternative, since I don't think it's a good definition, because all rectangles would be considered squares. I just pointed out that it's nothing logically wrong with the definition.

Oh okay thank you
