when solving an inequality, what do you do when a fraction is involved?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-6/7y - 6 > 42

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you move -6 to the right side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the only thing im confused about is what to do with the fraction. im not sure if i can change to a decimal or what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so far i have -6/7 > 48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-6/7y > 48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then Multiply both side for -7/6!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i did it wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i subtracted -6 from both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thats what i did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it thank you so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im trying to finish the problem...... one second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got y > 8/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y > - 8/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i dont get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i got it this time y >56

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just realized it now......thanks

It's just 2-step problem, make sure you practice, otherwise it'll take forever!
