ok... you need to do the brackets 1st 9 + 3 = ? can you do that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Operations in parentheses are done first. Then, when a number appears next to parentheses, the implied operation is multiplication.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

already did that teacher said it was wrong

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well what did you get for 9 + 3..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

528

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9+3=12

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok so you have after doing the brackets you work left to right \[48 \div 2\times12 = \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24 x 12 = 288

OpenStudy (anonymous):

still says it wrong

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well the only option left is an answer of 2... 48/24 = 2 if thats the case you teacher has written the question incorrectly...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhhhhh ok

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

to get an answer of 2 you need \[48 \div(2(9 + 3)\]
