Before doing this project, I thought that the government did not really play a big role in the promotion or ensurance of tolerance. Today I interviewed two adults. One male (named Chris) and one female (named Susan). I had a wonderful interview experience with them! Chris and Susan both knew about the role of the Consitiution and the law. Chris believed that the Constitution plays a role in providing scope for good government. However, Susan believed that the Constitution plays a role in providing scope for good government, while at the same time placing limitations on the powers of the

same time placing limitations on the powers of the governors. I was able to share many new things with Susan and Chris! The two things that Susan and Chris did not know or hear of before I interviewed them was the 26th Amendment and the Synder Act! When I learned from the interviews that both Susan and Chris were history teachers, I was truly surprised! I wasn't expecting this at all (even though they got most of my questions and knew about history a lot)! Although Chris provided me with a lot of interesting information, I have to admit that Susan provided me with the most interesting information in the interview. When I asked Susan if she thinks that people are still treated unfairly, she responded with "Yes, I do believe that this is happeneing, even though there were so many rights released that you should treat people fairly and equally!". I agreed with Susan's responce. When I asked Chris if he finds any difference in our society today than it was two hundred years ago and if he finds our society more or less tolerant, his responce was "There are many differences in our society today than there were two hundred years ago. In my opinion, our society became more tolerant. What do you think?". In a way, his responce did challenge the way that I was thinking of the idea. After talking with these two adults, I believe that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 had the most significant impact on tolerance today. I had so much fun and I cannot wait until my next interview!
