I took part A of this class over the summer, but my counselor didn't give me part B until now and it's been a while since I've worked with this math. If anyone can help re-teach this to me, I would really appreciate it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I have an idea of how to do this but I'm not sure. I had to get help from another friend, but i'm still not completely sureabout it :/

OpenStudy (curry):

the first one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get the answer, if you don't mind me asking? (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it must be the first one because each of them have the same slope but is reflected on the y axis. F(5) is defined by the second equation of the piece wise function so therefor it must be the first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the slope in this case 3x, and -3x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. That - sign means the graph is the same but reflected on the y axis. The slope is independent of the negative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOH. I remember something about that. Okay, but what about that 2 and -2? What are those?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The slope for both functions is till 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But the one with the negative sign has been reflected on the y-axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, alrighty. By "the first one" are you talking about this graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or this one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oooh, alrighty. That's what my friend said too but she told me to double check (: Thank you so much! This helps alot!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are welcome :) .
