Please help me solve simultaneous equations X-Y=73 X-2Y=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve the first equation for X and plug it into the bottom equation. You should now be able to solve for Y. Once you have Y plug it into either of the original equations and you can get X.

Whenever you see the same amount of algebra equations as unknowns this is a pretty good method.
