Solve: 3(x − 1) − (x + 5) = 2

IS X 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if so how do you find it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=5 because u distribute your 3 to all the terms and the negative to the second half of the terms so u should have 3x-3-x-5=2 then combine like terms and get 2x-8=2. then add 8 to both sides and divide by 2 and get 5 :)

yupp x=5
