DP are the product of the release of the energy from the ATP the third phosphate on the adensoine tri-phosphate is held on to the molcule with a specific amount of energy------whenthe bond breaks the energy is released to whatever other metabolic reactoin needs it leaving the free phosphate and a larger ADP molecule. eventually the ADP hooks up with a free phospahte again whensome other reacton releases enough chemical energy to connect the phosphate to the ADP
