Car 1 goes .037 m/s Car 2 goes .076 m/s After 12 minutes how far did Car 2 travel relative to Car 1? I need help with setting up the initial equation.

First thing you would do is change the time into seconds as that is the standard format. So: 12*60=720 s Now, since the question is how far did Car 2 travel relative to Car 1, you must find the distance between Car 2 and Car 1. To do this you would have to do: (Car 2's speed * time) - (Car 1's speed * time) = distance It then further becomes: (0.76 m/s * 720 s) - (0.37 m/s * 720 s)

Ok thank you I was using 3600 seconds in one minute I think I got all screwed up.
