25/6=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what class or grade is this for? Just curious :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4.166666666666667

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12th lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

were you confused by the division? It wasn't obvious what your problem was...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i don't understand remainders

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you supposed to answer with a remainder? Or a decimal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

remainder

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, how many times can you multiply 6 to get close to, but under 25?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 x 1 = 6 6 x 2 = 12 6 x 3 = 18 6 x 4 = 24 So, you have 1 left over between 24 and 25, so you have a remainder of 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you wanted to answer as a decimal, you could then divide that remainder by 6 also. you would get the 0.166666667 that was on the end of the calculator answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 25/6 is just like (24/6) + (1/6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or, as a remainder, the answer would be 4 remander 1
