Factor: 2x^4 + 16X

OpenStudy (eyust707):

The best you can do is take out a 2

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

I'll assume that x and X are the same (typically they aren't) Take out 2x from this equation: \(2x(x^3+8)\) Now here's a shortcut: 2^3 = 8. So apply the perfect cube identity \(a^3+b^3 = (a+b)(a^2-ab+b^2)\): \(2x(x+2)(x^2-2x+4)\).
