OpenStudy (anonymous):

the perimeter of a regular pentagon is 31 cm. find the length of each side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many sides are there in a pentagon? # of sides divided by 31... I THINK

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

perhaps the other way around 31 divided by the number of sides in a pentagon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To put it simply...find out how many times 5 will go into 31 and that will be the length of each side.

OpenStudy (richyw):

let \(x\) be the length of one side. Since perimeter is the length of all sides, and a pentagon has 4 sides, you would get \[31=5x\]now just solve for x
