like using my calculator

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

what they have do is multiplied both sides by 32. This will remove the denominator of L... to the equation is \[L = \frac{88.36 \times 32}{4\pi^2}\]

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

now if you enter the above equation you should get the given answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i entered exatcly like that but i got 6976.62

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[\frac{88.36}{4\pi^2}=\frac{L}{32}\] \[32\times\frac{88.36}{4\pi^2}=L\] \[8\times\frac{88.36}{\pi^2}=L\] \[\frac{706.88}{\pi^2}=L\] \[L\approx \frac{706.88}{9.8696}\] \[=71.62195023101241\] \[\approx 71.6\]

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

I think you need som brackets \[L = \frac{(88.36 \times 32)}{( 4 \times \pi^2)}\] and you should get the desired answer.
