Please help  The average cost of a traditional thanksgiving dinner for 10 people featuring turkey, stuffing, cranberries, pumpkin pie and trimmings was $36.78 in 2005. This price increased 3.6% in 2006. What was the price of this traditional thanksgiving dinner in 2006?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well you need to find 3.6% of $36.78 then add that to the 2005 cost of $36.78 so 2006 Cost = 36.78 + 0.036 x 36.78

I think you need to multiply 3.6% and 36.78 to get the dollar amount of the increase. Then you need to add that to the 36.78 to get the price of the dinner in 2006.
