Arnold has designed a tent. He plans to add a support BD that bisects , as shown. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=1oludx&s=6 Part 1: Using complete sentences, describe the steps used to construct the support. Part 2: Compare and contrast the method of constructing the support verses sketching the support.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when?

hero (hero):

Give me a few minutes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please hurry. i dont understand this at all

hero (hero):

I'll have to post a solution later. I'm kinda busy right now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i need it now. i have to turn this in.

hero (hero):

Okay, hang on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it yet?

hero (hero):

There are two ways....I will show you both (the easier first)... If this is an isosceles triangle (assuming it is here), then you can find the bisector by finding the midpoint of AC And then drawing a line from B to that midpoint

hero (hero):

If you can't assume that, then you'll have to use a compass. 1. Place the compass at point A, stretch out an appropriate length, then draw an arc. 2. Without changing the length of the compass place the compass on point B, then draw another arc. The arcs should intersect like so: |dw:1348249217697:dw|
