o
both argument and conclusion are correct and law of syllogism is used.
I have one more question..
wait, i m not sure, it can be detachment also.
Which statement about the following argument is true? Argument: If you have a job, then you have an income. If you have an income, then you must pay taxes. Therefore, if you have a job, then you must pay taxes. The argument is valid by the Law of Syllogism. The argument is valid by the Law of Detachment. The argument is invalid. The argument is valid but does not follow the Law of Syllogism or the Law of Detachment.
would this be invalid?
oh, now its clear to me sorry, 1st one was detachment and this one is syllo...and valid
Syllogism: 1.P→Q 2.Q→R 3.Therefore, P→R.
detachment : P→Q (conditional statement) P (hypothesis stated) Q (conclusion deduced)
so 1st one is detachment , both correct 2nd one is syllogism and valid.
Oh ok I get it now. Thank you.
welcome :)
