What transformations change the graph of f(x) to the graph of g(x)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you posting the graph too?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) = –7x² g(x) = –35x² + 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what do you have to do to f(x) to get it to be equal to g(x) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no clue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you multiply f(x) by 5, what do you end up with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) = -7x^2 ---->>> 5f(x) = 5(-7x^2) = -35x^2 So, that's part of the transformation, but not the complete transformation because g(x) is -35x^2 + 5 So you also need to add 5 to the 5f(x) 5f(x)+5 = -35x^2 + 5 = g(x) So the transformation is 5f(x)+5 = g(x)
