Ooh. so if you're given 78 and 82 the answer is a simple average
(78 + 82 + s)/3
That gets you your average. Anything else needed? If not then whatever you plug in for s will get you your test score.
dont we need to solve for s though
I think Freyes stepped away. You don't need to solve for s, because the problem stated "Express the given quantity in terms of the indicated variable" In this case, the indicated variable is "s" so you are supposed to express the average of the three scores using "s"
