I need help sketching a graph of y=f(x). f(x)=-3x+5

OpenStudy (aravindg):

simple! the given form is y=-3x+5 y+3x=5 y/5+x/(5/3)=1 this is intercept form y intercept is 5 and x intercept is 5/3

OpenStudy (aravindg):

so mark the x intercept and y itercept in the graph and join them with a straight line!!!

OpenStudy (aravindg):

got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm working on it. I am no good at graphs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm confused. Ha!

OpenStudy (aravindg):

what happened?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am trying to figure out how to graph 5/3

OpenStudy (aravindg):

you just need to mark the points (0,5) and (5/3,0) and join them with a straight line!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There's not option for 5/3 though. There are only whole numbers and negative numbers.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

check again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did, thanks anyway.
