find the slope and the y-intercept of the line y=-4.does the line have an x intercept?explain plz help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no x intersect because it will never equal zero. y intersect is -4. y is always -4 so the graph itnersect the y axis as -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope is zero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope of the line is 0 sine its parallel to x axis... also the x- intercept doesnt exist as it has no point on x axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so my expiation is because x doesnt exist ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. because the function does not depend on x. x exist but the function has nothing to do with it. any x yields y=-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plus y never equals zero which is the definition of x-intersect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nops... x intercep means the point on x at which the line makes intersetion with x axis, the similar with y intercept... @josiahh
