ok.... rewite your equation \[(2^2)^{1 - 2x} = 2^1\] use the power of a power law \[(x^a)^b = x^{a \times b}\] so you will have \[2^{2 - 4x} = 2^1\] all you need to do now is solve 2 - 4x = 1 since the bases are the same
