Geometry: Can someone give me an example of a find the distance between R(?, ?) and Q(?, ?) and show all the work? With the Finding Distance formula(In picture).

ok... this is an application of pythagoras' theorem |dw:1348361450693:dw| the vertical height of the triangle is the difference between the y values which is \[(y_{2} - y_{1}) \] the horizontal distance is the difference in the x values which is \[(x_{2} - x_{1})\] so QR is the hypotenuse or a right triangle with sides \[(x_{2} - x_{1}) ..... and ...... (y_{2} - y_{1}) \] it is just a case of applying pythagoras' theorem to these lengths to find the hypotenuse.
