A scale drawing of a storage box on a coordinate grid shows a square with the points (-4, 2) and (-1, 4) as the locations of two adjacent vertices. Which pair of coordinate points could represent the other two vertices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you find the equation of the line through your two points? that's the first step...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool. next step is to find the equations of those two lines that are perpendicular to your line... that's pretty easy, if the slope of the first line you found is 'm', their slopes will be -1/m and they each go through one of the vertices... so you have a point and a slope...

you with me so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes a little

OpenStudy (anonymous):

listen mam i really am trying what is the answer?

if you've found those three lines, that last step should be easy...
