How do I get 2y=24 into standard form?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

divide both sides by two !

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

2y=24 is already in standard form Unless you want to write it like this 0x + 2y = 24

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Standard form is Ax + By = C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought standard form y=m x + b.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that's slope intercept form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

not exactly... remember that standard form is ax +by + c = 0 therefore you need to subtract 24 from both sides
