OpenStudy (jwheele1):

What is the assignment exactly?

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

Or what is your thesis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

write an essay about the organization of the periodic table and its trends

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

Begin with an audience question? "Did you know that by counting the elements in order on the periodic table of elements that you can determine how many electrons are in each sub level of an atom? The periodic table of elements was designed to assist chemists by (main point 1),(main point 2),and (main point 3).

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

Of course you will have to create a whole intro paragraph. let me see if I cant find you some main points to develop...

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

What appears to be the trend as you move from left to right in a row? What appears to be the trend as you move down a column? How can you use the table to find the diatomic elements? the stable element with a full valence shell? How can you find the number of neutrons in an atom by the table?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would suggest some trivia and perhaps make some analogies in classifying things then move to the more specific aspects after

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

I agree. Engage the audience first with either a question/trivia OR with an interesting factoid.
