can somebody match these three I ned help very bad in math!! Please help Given shown below, match the trigonometric term on the left with its corresponding ratio on the right. Match Term Definition 1. sine ∡B A)36/85 2.cosine ∡B B)77/85 3. tangent∡B C)77/36

OpenStudy (aravindg):

is it 4B or 48?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't you have a diagram?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll draw it out for you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually, I don't need a diagram. It can be figured with logic and no drawing. tan = c, sin = b, cos = a.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you :D as you can tell i'm really terrible at math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But we need to go thru this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just me giving you an answer is not going to help you at all, so let's go thru it, ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1348423615862:dw|You have lengths 36, 77, and 85 and a bunch of trig questions, so it looks like these lengths form a right triangle, so taking the 2 smallest numbers, we get 36^2 + 77^2 and checking, we see that it does indeed = 85^2. So, we must have (see drawing). It turns out that we have the second drawing by trying the tan. With me so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The rest is easy. Just evaluate sin and cos.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1348424023928:dw|The only thing I needed to add to the drawing is the angle B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you still there? It would be helpful for you to go over this drawing and the logic. Otherwise, you will not have learned anything.

im back now @tcarroll010
