In my biology class we did this experiment on organic compounds with random foods. And my group discovered that orange juice tested positive for being a lipid. How would I type this in my lab report?

How did you test it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We ripped up a brown paper bag and had to put a drop of orange juice on the brown paper bag. Let it dry, hold it up to the window to see which food tested was the most translucent. Which was orange juice

Interesting. I've never done that, so I didn't know it was possible to check for lipids that way :) In your write up, you'll need to say what you did and what you found, but it might be a good idea to comment on your findings a bit too. I just did a quick google search for lipids in orange juice, and I found this: http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/jf00078a039 I think the only page that you can look at for free is the first one, but there's some information there about the types of lipids in juice and what they do.

Okay, I think I can work with this. Thank you!
