Plz help me with the las question(OSH question 2 (hardcopy) in the link below http://slesse.math.ubc.ca/wikis/Courses/index.php/Math_102/Lab_1:_Graphing_a_simple_function
you want the point of tangency and the equation of the line?
A quadratic-shaped hill stands in the middle of a forest. Lightning strikes a perfectly straight vertical tree near the hill, cracking the trunk 10 meters above the ground. The top of the tree falls over and comes to rest with its bottom end still connected to the location of the crack and the side of the upper part of the trunk leaning against the hill. The profile of the hill is given by h(x) = 100 − x2 where x is as denoted in the figure. Both h(x) and x are measured in meters. The base of the tree is located 10 meters away from the base of the hill. Find the coordinates of the point of contact between the tree and the hill (P). Your answer should not be expressed as a decimal - square root signs are fine but simplify as much as possible. Calculate the equation of the line along which the upper part of the tree (segment AB) lies.
