PEMDAS=Parenthesis-Exponents-Multiplication-Division-Addition-Subtraction. I am pretty sure you should know what to evaluate first hand. It goes from the left being done first toe the right which would be solved last. So here is a hint divide 48 by 6 first.

when it comes to multiplication and division or addition and subtraction, it really doesn't matter much but ideal if division is on the left side why not do it first? you always work from left to right not the opposite. You can multiply first if that makes you more comfortable but it seems irrational since 48 divided by 6 is much simpler.
