is this for class or your own interest?

Class
OpenStudy (masterchief):
Like I want to know when to use which because all I have been using was the first one and then I came across addition property of equality so I was confused.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok so the segment addition postulate is for line segments..
the addition property of equality is just for adding numbers
ex. 3+2=2+3
OpenStudy (masterchief):
In this book it has things like AB + BC = GH
and it says addition property of equality

AB + BC = GH this is for a line segment..
and its using the addition property of equality so be able to proof it
OpenStudy (masterchief):
But i thought it was segment addition postulate ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes it is
OpenStudy (masterchief):
So is the book wrong?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
AB + BC = GH
line segment B
