Choose the correct pattern for the following sentence. 1. Electric cars take several hours to recharge. A. S-V-O (subject, verb, object) B. S-V-IO (subject, verb, indirect object) C. S-V-N (subject, verb, predicate noun/noun) D. S-V-A (subject, verb, adjective) I personally think it's 'D', but I'm completely unsure... I'd appreciate some feedback and an explanation, thank you!
I'm thinking D, too.
yeah same here looks like D to me
i mean its the only one that makes sence to me anyway
Thanks for the replies! But I really need an explanation as to why it would be correct so if I ever have a question like this again, I'll understand it better (the textbook doesn't really explain it, it just shows me different patterns).
After taking a second look, I think the answer might be C. Subject: Electric cars Verb: take Noun: recharge
That may be possible since 'recharge' isn't necessarily a 'Adjective'...
Right. That's what got me thinking.
Actually I don't know.. apparently the text book says the 'N' stands for predicate nominative.. Shouldn't it have been PN then? I assumed it meant 'noun'.
On dictionary.com it says 'recharge' is a verb.
Hmmm... I'm not sure. Sorry. I hope someone else can help you.
It's alright, thanks for trying though, I appreciate it!
No problem.
S-V-N
Can you explain why, please?
So is it C or D?
BIG TIME D!!!!!!!
Again, can you please explain WHY you think that?
you go to connections academy? i just took the test, the answer's actually A; S-V-O . ._.
Miicchi is right, the answer is S-V-O. I just took the test myself.
