-14=-4(9x-1)
do you know how to simplify the right side of the equation ? ( -4(9x-1) )
-14=-4(9x-1) 14/4 =9x-1 7/2 = 9x-1 7=18x-2 18x=9 x=18/2 =9
why people keep just solving questions :|
dont you times -4 and 9x then times -4 and 1
-4 and -1 .. so what will you have then ?
36x-4?
so then the hole thing would look like -14=36x-4??
-36x + 4 notice that - times + is minus and - times - is plus
-14 = -36x + 4
why would it change to a plus? if it started with a minus. in the ( )??
you had -4 ( 9x - 1) = -4 * 9x + (-4)*(-1) = -36x + 4
-14 = -4(9x - 1) -14 = -36x + 4 -14 - 4 = -36x -18 = -36x x = 1/2
do you understand why now ?
no not really
ya i do cause i forgot you had to flip the minus to a postive.
ok first .. whenever you multiply minus by plus you get a minus for example : -1 * 2 = -2 whenver you multiply minus by minus you get plus for example : -1 * -2 = 2 whenver you multiply plus by plus you get plus for example 1 * 2 = 2
so same here : -4 ( 9x - 1) = -4 * 9x + (-4)*(-1) = -36x + 4 -4 * 9x -> will be minus -4 * -1 -> will be plus
ya i get it now.. so can you help me with the rest of my home work so i understand it?
please and thank you
wait .. so you solved for x ?
yes
what did you get ?
just a minute
ok. Thanks.
\[-14=-4(9x-1) -14=-36x+4 -14+4=10 10=-36x 10/-36x=-26\]
dont know what you wrote here.. but : -14 = -36x + 4 subtract 4 from both sides to isolate x term what will you have ?
-18=-36x???
so wouldnt x=.5
very good
thank you for helping me.
