What is the third quartile (Q3) of the following data set? 33, 15, 29, 12, 23, 40, 26, 17, 19, 25

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how many numbers are there?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

quartile relates to 4ths, or quarters. you want the 3/4th position ... but depending on how this pans out, you might need to take the average of 2 positiions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you need to order the numbers from smallest to largest, then find the median, then find the median of the medians. the one towards the end is your q3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

median of medians is fine too

OpenStudy (amistre64):

10 numbers 10*3/4 = 7.5 ... since this is a decimal, rnd up. its the 8th number from smallest to largest

Ohhh gotcha! Thanks alot! :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck
