No, they both have different syntax definitions and codes. They may look the same, but they are really not. But you can study them both.

Python is nothing like C++ ( in other words is different..),but if you want to learn more in C++,try and learn more algorithms,and then implement them in C++. You can start from here : http://www.wowebook.be/book/algorithms-in-a-nutshell/ Try to always push yourself over the limits,thus you will evolve continuously. knowing the language and its syntax may not be the main thing. its how you approach problems and try to build algorithms to solve them say using even a simple flow chart. this course will make you do that just like Daniel says

I believe they are totally different your logic may improve as it will with any programming language but in syntax terms you won't get any advantage
