Solve: y over negative 2+ 5 = 12 A) -14 B) 14 C) 34 D) -34

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[\frac{ y }{ -2 }+5=12\] So you need to isolate the y. Subtract 5 from both sides. Then Multiply both sides by -2 to get y alone! c: post a reply if you're still stuck c:

is the answer 34?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

So after you subtract 5 from both sides, you should get \[\frac{ y }{ -2 }=7\] then multiply both sides by -2. the left side will simplify to y, and the right side is 7 * -2
