How do I find the constant of variation of y - 6x + 0?

hartnn (hartnn):

constant of variation in y=kx is k.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know the equation, but how do I solve this?

hartnn (hartnn):

y-6x=0 right ? so y=6x constant of variation = 6

hartnn (hartnn):

got that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just whatever number is in front of the x?

hartnn (hartnn):

yup.

hartnn (hartnn):

but for that number in front of y should be 1
