there is one solution if you just need the graph, you have to graph both lines. i would do this http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y+%2B+2x+%3D+%E2%88%921%2C3y+%E2%88%92+x+%3D+4+

the lines are not parallel, the slopes are different. you can solve by writing \(x=3y-4\) form the second equation, the replacing \(x\) by \(3y-4\) in the first to get \[y+2(3y-4)=-1\] and solving for \(y\)
