how is the cariovascular and skeletal system interdependent

I guess there is an interdependence becasue the lungs need the ribs to help maintain an inflated state; also expansion of the ribs leads to further inflation on inspiration (breathing in to you and me). I guess the energy and oxygen for the intercostal muscles which do a lot of the work of breathing must come from the circulation, so the cardiovascular system supports the brathing.
