Question

In terms of the relative strengths and weaknesses of the North and South, which of the following is true?
1)All officers in the United States military remained with the Union.
2) The North had the advantage of a greater population and more industry.
3)The South's strategy included an offensive to take over the North.
4) The North was likely to win because most of the military colleges were in the North.

I would really appreciate an explanation too. I think it might be the second one but im not apsolutely sure.

It is 2 for sure. They certainly had the industry as the South was primarily Agricultural and a plantation, slave labor economy so the production of guns, etc was more difficult in the South. It is not 1. as the Southerners who had graduated from West Point went with the South, even though they were officers. Not 3d as the South never desired to take over the North, but just seceded from the Union. Not 4 as there were a number of military colleges in the South - VMI being one. wmw
