Before Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press in 1440, the printing industry was not as vibrant as it would become. People did not have the opportunity to read the various books in the bible due to illiteracy and the availability of books.. The books had previously been copied by hand, so it took a long time to produce a book; in severe cases, it took several years to publish a single book. Because publishing books was a demanding process, and because it was expensive, only the rich could afford books. Due to the fact that books were handwritten, many mistakes were made during the bookmaking process. Therefore, the invention of the printing press created a big boom in the printing industry during the renaissance era because it made books affordable and more accurate, and it also increased literacy and spirituality.

intro: 1st sentence shoudl grab your audiences attention and make them WANT to read yoru essay. Thesis should be near the bottom of the paragraph and state what each body paragraph will be about.

body paragraph 1: advancement in science and culture-sharing
body paragraph 2: advancement in Spirituality
body paragraph 3: advancement in literacy and availablity of books

Conclusion: You need a conclusion paragraph. it should say the same kind fo things your intro paragraph said but in different words. At teh end of teh paragraph, try to relate it to somethign similar in todays time. For instance, the inventiomn of teh printing press is a lot like todays invention of computers.
