given a table of values with x and f(x) how do you calculate the value of a particular f ' ?

You find their slope by dividing each number from the f(x) value to the x-value. And if this number is equal for some of the values, it means they vary linearly. Hence, the function becomes y=kx where k is the slope. Then you calculate for any particular f.
