Please help. 3(y-2)/5 = 1- 3y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first distribute the 3 into (y-2) to get rid of the parenthesis what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3y -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so now since 3y-6 divided by 5 doesn't come out evenly you can multiply both sides by 5 instead, now what do you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3y - 6 = 1 - 3y * 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.....ok um let's focus on the right side, to get rid of /5 from the left you have to multiply everything on the right by 5, what do you get?
