Solve the following system of equations using the substitution method. y-3=0 x=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The area of a region bounded by a graph of a function, the x -axis, and two vertical ... Because f ( x) ≥ 0 on [–3,0] and f ( x) ≤ 0 on [0,2] (see Figure 5 ), the area ( A) of the region is ... Example 3: Find the area bounded by y = x2 and y = 8 – x2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 8 is a vertical line through x = 8. If you add the three to the other side in the first equation, you have y = 3. y = 3 is a horizontal line through y = 3. So what is the solution, now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(You don't technically solve this by substitution, btw...both variables don't present themselves in both equations)

Thank you! (8,3) I was over thinking this problem as usual.

No problem, easy to do ;)
