is 3/7 > or < than 1/2??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think? Any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

less than

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because one half is staright down the middle and 3/7 you have to divide into other pieces and its smaller than 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soo whats the less than sign i get confused with that..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can't make "even" split on 7ths, can you...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can but in a smaller divsions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 apples, 7 friends... (brain cramp)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyway, yeah, you're on the right track... 3/7 is less than 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol its okay... you should give me a medal :) for getting it right :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3/7 is like 6/14 and 1/2 is like 7/14 so 1/2 is more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the sign is this way <

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are the winner this time... this time... (grumble grumble) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, right direction :) Sounds like you know this stuff... :)
