New to code altogether or just to Python?

The Python course will start soon, maybe you can wait for everyone or you can try to get started on the materials a bit earlier if u want.

If you need hands-on experience, you might try: http://www.codecademy.com/tracks/python It makes you code rather than listen to lectures.

You can start with a tutorial : http://thenewboston.org/list.php?cat=36 or with a book : http://www.wowebook.be/book/python-in-a-nutshell-2nd-edition/ As there are many teaching styles ,i would advise you to try more books,or tutorials and stick with the one you're comfortable with !
