The surface area and depth of the Pacific Ocean are 1.8 X 10^8 km^2 and 3.9 X10^3 m respectively, Calculate the volume of the Pacific Ocean in liters.

For this question you should first calculate the surface area in metres, then multiply by the depth to give a value in cubic metres. Then remember that there are 1000litres in a cubic metres. This should give a very large number and if you want, I'll check your value against mine.

(1.8x10^8 km²) x (3.9x10^3 m) x (1000 m / 1 km)² x (1000 L / 1 m³) = 7.02x10^20 L

The answer I got is the same as that written above.
