Write an equation for the line that is parallel to the given line and passes through the given point. y = x + 8; (4, 10) A. y = x B. y = x + 6 C. y = x – 6 D. y = x + 6 A, B, C, or D? Please explain (:

OpenStudy (nubeer):

parallel lines have the same gradients.. and gradient in a line is the cofficient of "x" u have gradient and point use this formula. y-y1 = m (x-x1) can u do it now?

|dw:1348646749285:dw| here is an example of a line parallel to y=x+8. except we don't want this line! :O we need the one that passes through (4,10) hmmmm.
