ok... here is a simple example... a rectangular prism has cross - sectional are of 10 sq units V = Area x height and the height is 1 unit the Volume is is 10 x 1 = 10 units cubed is the height is tripled = 3 V = 10 x 3 = 30 units cubed... hope this helps...
