There are 8 cars driving in a race. They are labeled with the letters A through H. No cars arrive at the exact same time. Car D comes in last place. Cars E and C arrive consecutively. Car B arrives after car F, but before car A. Car E arrives before car A. In how many different orders could the cars have finished the race?

@blaiset is 24 the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think 8

OpenStudy (amorfide):

i think 12...

2x3x4=24

OpenStudy (amorfide):

cant be 4 factorial... can it? D is in a fixed position and EC have to stay together and FBA have to stay together in my opinion it would be 4 factorial, but only two can be arranged and you would divide by 2 factorial, gives 12... but stats was my worst part of math
